  1. For me reading Waiting for Snow was just OK. I am glad to have read it particularly at this time when the US is reestablishing relations with Cuba. It was good to hear someone with such an Anti-Castro viewpoint to understand how many Cubans who are now U.S. citizens must feel.

I did not read every word he wrote, and at times it was hard to get through this book. It seemed a bit random how he put chapters together but they were short. I guess the book lacked a certain structure, for example toward the end the "orphanage" came up out of nowhere and I was confused.

I liked the Louis 16th stuff and the insertion of Spanish into the writing. I enjoyed the writing from memory writing style. Seems to me we all color reality with our own perceptions. That is why "search for the truth" is always such a struggle. It's hard to agree on just about anything.
